TRANSCRIPT EXCERPT — 07:44:18 AWST

“…okay so we’re standing at the top of the east stair now, this is plus six-five, and you can see the two three-fifty UBs either side — that’s where the platform goes — yeah that’s right, it’ll span between those two columns, six by four, and then from here — I need to check the column schedule but they look like they’re part of the original building steelwork — yeah I don’t have the drawings on me today, Stuart would have them — okay we’ll call that a hold, I need the original structurals before we can do anything with the base plate, and then from the platform edge here you can see the walkway route going east, and that’s the pipe bundle about twelve metres out — yeah those are the slurry lines — right, and we’ve got what, four hundred mil clearance above the top pipe to that overhead angle — maybe four-fifty — tight, we’ll need a step-over detail there, code compliant, handrailing all the way through…”

Inspection Summary

Site walkthrough conducted at Brockman 4 Mine, Secondary Crusher Building Area 3, Tom Price WA, on 22 May 2026. The purpose of the visit was to capture the full design scope for a new access platform, suspended walkway, perimeter handrailing, and monorail runway beam at the plus 6500 level of the secondary crusher building. CADDS Group site rep C. Morrison attended with Rio Tinto Maintenance Superintendent S. Patterson. Three areas were walked: the proposed platform zone between existing 350UB columns on the north face, the full walkway route east to the existing Crusher 2 platform including the slurry pipe bundle obstruction at approximately 12 metres, and the plus 6500 landing area near the existing stair where the damaged grating panel and proposed monorail extent are located. The overhead crane was operational throughout; Crusher 3 was in live service. Audio and observations were recorded continuously from arrival at the Area 3 access point. Existing structural drawings were not available on site — this is captured as a design hold.

2
Existing Condition Summary
Building structure
Secondary crusher building, Area 3. Existing 350UB columns on north face. Column schedule, base plate details, and floor system design loads not available on site — see Hold Item 1.
Platform level
Plus 6500 (RL +6.500m). New platform to span between existing 350UB columns — north face. Approximate plan dimensions 6m × 4m. Column spacing to be confirmed against structural drawings.
Walkway route
18m east from new Crusher 3 platform to existing Crusher 2 platform at same RL. Slurry pipe bundle obstruction at approximately 12m east — 3 pipes (approx 4”, 6”, 8” — unconfirmed), running N-S. 400–500mm clearance above top of pipes to overhead steel. Step-over feature required.
Existing cage ladder
East side, plus 3500 to plus 6500. Redundant. Proposed for demolition. Asbestos register check required before decommissioning proceeds — see Hold Item 3.
Grating condition
One damaged bar grating panel at plus 6500 near stair landing, approximately 600×1200mm (to be confirmed). Fractured bearing bar visible. Panel barricaded. Replacement in scope.
Stair access width
Approximately 800mm between handrails at new platform stair — tight for equipment movement. Noted as a design constraint for monorail trolley access planning.
Existing handrail defect
Missing rail section at plus 3500 landing, east side. Area barricaded. In RTIO maintenance queue. Out of scope for this engagement but documented for completeness.
Overhead crane / plant status
Overhead crane operational throughout site visit. Crusher 3 in live service. Construction staging must account for live plant — shutdown windows required for structural attachment works.
Finish requirement
Hot dipped galvanised (HDG) throughout, to AS 4680, 85 microns minimum average. RTIO site standard document to be provided by S. Patterson — see Action Item 4.

Scope of Works
1
New access platform at +6500 — 6m × 4m. Structural steel platform spanning between existing 350UB columns on the north face of the secondary crusher building, Area 3. Platform to provide safe working access to Crusher 3 chute and equipment. Column attachment details subject to confirmation of original structural drawings and base plate capacity — Hold Item 1.
2
18-metre suspended walkway, Crusher 3 to Crusher 2 at +6500. Suspended walkway connecting the new Crusher 3 access platform to the existing Crusher 2 platform at the same RL. Includes a code-compliant step-over feature at the slurry pipe bundle obstruction at approximately 12m east. Pipe sizes and overhead clearance to be confirmed — Action Item 2. Design must satisfy AS 1657 and RTIO access standards throughout.
3
Full perimeter AS 1657 handrailing. All four sides of the new platform and full walkway length including step-over feature. Top rail at 900mm, mid rail at 450mm, toe board 100mm minimum. All connections hot dipped galvanised. Intermediate posts at maximum 1800mm centres unless structural layout requires otherwise.
4
250 kg SWL manual chain block monorail runway beam. Runway beam spanning from stair termination to directly below chute access hatch, to carry a 250 kg SWL manual chain block and trolley. Positive end stops (welded and/or bolted) at both ends of runway. Chain block SWL to be confirmed against RTIO maintenance procedure document — Action Item 5. Runway structural attachment to new platform framing to be detailed in design package.
5
Demolition of existing cage ladder, east side. Remove and dispose of redundant cage ladder from plus 3500 to plus 6500, east side. Asbestos register check required before demolition scope is finalised — Hold Item 3. Decommissioning records to be provided by S. Patterson — Action Item 5.
6
Replacement of one damaged bar grating panel at +6500. Remove and replace fractured grating panel near stair landing (approximately 600×1200mm — exact size to be confirmed on site). Replacement panel to match existing bar grating specification. RTIO grating specification document to be provided by S. Patterson — Action Item 4.

Human review required before issue This pack is a draft prepared by AI Site Rep from field observations and audio captured during the site walkthrough. All content must be reviewed and verified by a qualified structural engineer before use in design, estimating or issue to client. Hold items are confirmed design blockers — detailed design must not commence until OI-001 and OI-003 are resolved. The system structures and drafts — your team decides.
